The online trade is growing continuously year by year - and automatically the demand for logistics services around the package. According to the Federal Association of Parcel and Express Logistics (BIEK), the number of shipments in Germany in 2017 has risen to more than 3.3 billion - equivalent to 11 million shipments per delivery day. Almost 85 percent of these shipments were parcels. These packages have to be sorted every day and loaded into delivery vehicles.
