Weilburg, June 16, 2026

The cVEND payment terminals from FEIG ELECTRONIC meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the German implementation of the EAA – called BFSG (Accessibility Improvement Act). This was confirmed by an independent TÜV SÜD audit in April 2026. The accessible payment terminals enable use by people with various disabilities and ensure legally compliant payment solutions for public and commercial use.

What does the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) regulate?

Since June 28, 2025, the BFSG has established binding requirements for the accessibility of products and services in the EU internal market. It is based on the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

What requirements apply to payment terminals?

Payment terminals must be designed so that people with disabilities can use them in an accessible manner. This applies to both hardware and software.

FEIG ELECTRONIC has been committed to accessible payment technology from the very beginning

FEIG addressed the legal requirements early on and has consistently implemented them: The cVEND payment terminals, provided they are delivered with a FEIG payment application, are fully designed to be accessible in accordance with the BFSG.

Independently Verified Accessibility by TÜV SÜD

In doing so, FEIG deliberately goes beyond the minimum legal requirements. While manufacturers are required to confirm compliance with the EAA solely through a self-declaration as part of the EU Declaration of Conformity—and no mandatory certification is required—FEIG has decided to take an additional step:

To offer customers and partners maximum security and transparency, TÜV SÜD independently verified the implementation of the accessibility requirements. In April 2026, FEIG received the corresponding test certificate.

“The independent TÜV audit confirms that our payment terminals fully meet the requirements for accessible payments. In this way, we create transparency and are able to support our customers in implementing the BFSG in compliance with the law,” explains Klaus Orthofer, Head of Sales at FEIG.

Future-Proof Payment Solutions for Everyone

With this initiative, FEIG is positioning itself as a pioneer in the field of accessible payment solutions and offers its customers and partners legally compliant, future-proof payment products for use in a wide variety of applications.

The accessible payment terminals are used in numerous industries and applications, including:

  • Account-based/ID-based ticketing (public transport)
  • Vending machines and kiosk systems (vending)
  • Charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EV charging)
  • Parking systems (Parking)
